CoRubrics

Terms of Use

These terms govern access to and use of CoRubrics, a platform for creating rubrics, managing educational assessments, and sending grade reports.

Last updated: May 30, 2026

Key Points

  • CoRubrics is intended for teachers and educational institutions, not for commercial use unrelated to education.
  • The teacher or institution is responsible for the data, content, and permissions required to use the platform with students.
  • AI features are assistive: teachers must review any rubric, criterion, comment, or result before using it.
  • During the alpha stage, the service may change, be limited, or be interrupted while the product is developed.

0. Service Provider Information (Legal Notice)

In compliance with Article 10 of Spanish Law 34/2002 of 11 July on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI-CE), the following information is provided about the operator of this website:

CoRubrics is operated as a personal project by Roger Feliu Vert. Contact email: rogerfv943@gmail.com. Website: corubrics.co.

1. Acceptance of the terms

By accessing CoRubrics, signing in, or using any of its features, you accept these Terms of Use. To use CoRubrics as a teacher or account holder you must be of legal age (18 in Spain, or the age of majority in your country of residence). If you act on behalf of an educational institution or organization, you represent that you have the legal capacity and authorization to accept these terms on its behalf.

If you do not accept these terms, you must not use CoRubrics. We may update these terms when needed due to legal, technical, or product changes. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes (for example, by email to registered teachers) before they take effect. The current version will always be available on this page.

2. Description of the service

CoRubrics enables teachers to create and manage rubrics, organize classes, import students, publish assessment forms, collect self- and peer-assessments, calculate grades, and report results.

Some features may be alpha, beta, or experimental. We may add, modify, suspend, or remove features to improve the service, fix errors, maintain security, or adapt the product to educational needs.

3. Accounts, access, and security

To use teacher features, you must sign in with a valid account. You are responsible for maintaining account security, controlling access to your email, and notifying us of any unauthorized use you become aware of.

Students may access forms through links or tokens generated by the teacher. You must protect those links and share them only with the intended assessment recipients.

  • Do not impersonate another person or create accounts using false information.
  • Do not attempt to access classes, forms, data, or accounts that do not belong to you.
  • Do not share teacher credentials or permit use that circumvents security controls.

4. Educational responsibility and student data

The teacher or educational institution decides what data is entered into CoRubrics, why it is used, and which students participate in each assessment. The teacher or institution is responsible for having the lawful basis, permissions, family notices, and internal rules required for that use.

CoRubrics provides technical tools, but does not replace the teacher's professional judgment or the academic, administrative, or legal obligations of the educational institution.

If you need to formalize a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) under Article 28 of the GDPR, it is available at corubrics.co/dpa. By using CoRubrics to process student data you accept the terms of that agreement.

5. Content and intellectual property

You retain rights in the content you enter into CoRubrics, including rubrics, criteria, classes, forms, assessments, and comments. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license necessary to host, process, display, transmit, and back up that content to provide and improve the service.

CoRubrics, its design, software, brand, documentation, and technical elements belong to their owners or licensors. These terms do not transfer rights in the platform to you except for the limited right to use it under these terms.

6. AI features

CoRubrics may offer assisted generation features to create or improve rubrics. AI outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for a specific class, law, educational stage, or pedagogical criterion.

You must professionally review any generated content before using it with students or including it in an assessment. Do not include sensitive personal data or unnecessary student information in prompts.

7. Acceptable use

You must use CoRubrics lawfully, responsibly, and consistently with its educational purpose. You may not use the service to harm others, violate rights, compromise platform security, or interfere with its operation.

  • Do not submit unlawful, discriminatory, defamatory, violent, abusive, or rights-infringing content.
  • Do not perform reverse engineering, abusive scraping, unauthorized penetration testing, aggressive automation, or attempts to bypass usage limits.
  • Do not upload malware, harmful code, or data designed to compromise systems, accounts, or networks.
  • Do not use CoRubrics to make high-impact automated decisions without appropriate human review.

8. Privacy and data protection

Personal data processing is described in the Privacy Policy. By using CoRubrics, you acknowledge that data processing is governed by that policy and by the applicable agreements or instructions between CoRubrics and the teacher.

You must ensure that you do not enter more personal data than necessary and that you handle the rights of students, families, and other data subjects under applicable law.

If you are subject to the GDPR and act as a data controller with respect to student or other personal data you enter into CoRubrics, the Data Processing Agreement available at corubrics.co/dpa is incorporated by reference into these Terms of Use.

9. Providers and third-party services

CoRubrics may integrate with providers for infrastructure, authentication, transactional email, monitoring, usage limits, and AI. These services may be subject to their own terms, data processing agreements, or policies.

We are not responsible for external services we do not control, although we seek to select suitable providers for an educational service and limit shared data to what is necessary.

10. Availability, alpha, and changes

CoRubrics is currently offered in an internal development or alpha stage. The service may contain errors, experience interruptions, change without prior notice, or impose usage limits while the product is validated.

We will make reasonable efforts to keep the platform available and secure, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, complete absence of errors, or that any specific feature will remain available indefinitely.

11. Plans, payments, and commercial changes

If CoRubrics is offered free of charge during alpha, this does not guarantee that all features will remain free in the future. We may introduce plans, limits, prices, or new commercial terms before public launch or in later versions.

When a paid feature becomes available, its commercial terms will be shown before you purchase or activate it. Payments are processed by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd.), our authorised payment provider and reseller. By purchasing the Pro plan, you also agree to the Paddle terms of use available at paddle.com.

Refunds and cancellations are governed by the CoRubrics Refund Policy, available at corubrics.co/refunds.

12. No pedagogical or legal warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the extent permitted by applicable law. In particular, CoRubrics does not guarantee academic outcomes, automatic compliance with educational regulations, absolute calculation accuracy in every scenario, or suitability of a rubric for a specific context.

The teacher or institution must review each assessment setup, weights, criteria, results, and reports before using them officially or communicating them to students and families.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, CoRubrics will not be liable for indirect damages, data loss caused by misuse, loss of profits, external interruptions, pedagogical decisions made by the user, or use of unreviewed content.

CoRubrics' total liability to the user, on any basis and across all claims arising from the same twelve-month period, will not exceed the amounts paid by the user in that period or, if the service was free, €50, unless mandatory applicable law requires a higher amount.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liabilities that cannot legally be excluded, including mandatory consumer or user rights where applicable.

14. Suspension and termination

You may stop using CoRubrics at any time. You may also request data export or deletion through the tools available in your account, in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or limit access if we detect abusive use, security risks, breach of these terms, legal requirements, or use that may harm students, teachers, institutions, or the platform.

15. Governing law and dispute resolution

These terms will be interpreted under Spanish law, without prejudice to mandatory consumer, user, or data protection rules that may apply.

Before starting a formal claim, both parties will try in good faith to resolve any disagreement related to the service. Without prejudice to the rights consumers and users may have under their local law, for any dispute arising from these terms the parties submit to the courts of Barcelona (Spain).

In the event of a dispute, users may contact us at support@corubrics.co to try to resolve any issue amicably. This is without prejudice to any rights they may have under applicable consumer protection law.

16. Severability and entire agreement

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a competent court, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. Partial invalidity will not affect the validity of the rest of the document.

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any specific agreement signed between CoRubrics and the educational institution, constitute the entire agreement between the parties regarding use of the service and supersede prior communications on the same subject.
